My "View" at the Swearing-In CeremonyI mean I really need people to actually listen to the full lyrics of this song, as if the hook "My President is Black, My Lambo is Blue" was not ignorant enough. Its pure jibberish and people are chanting it like drones and wearing t-shirts with the slogan on there!!
Anyhow speaking of T-shirts, it was my distinct honor to be living in D.C. for the inaugural festivities of our 44th President: Barack H. Obama and our 47th Vice-President Joseph R. Biden. The weekend from the Opening Ceremonies to the Swearing in was Fab!! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I say that not because I have any doubt something so historical will happen in my lifetime, but because I will never ever expose myself to the cold and waiting outside again like that! For 2 days I was out in freezing temps. I am from the Midwest so I am used to the cold, but I am not an Eskimo, they need to really consider moving the inauguration to the summertime or better yet indoors to the Verizon Center!!
Anyhow back to our favorite t-shirts. So in October, I caught Mr. President on the Big Tigger Show aired here in D.C. and when asked how he felt about his name being on t-shirts, cups, and hats. He said : "He is just happy to give a brother a job" Ha! My President is Black and Funny. However, he had nooooo idea that he would be his own stimulus package. There were so many hustlers in D.C. you would have thought it was a Obama hustlers convention. I saw
T-shirts (slogans included "Black is the New President" , "the chosen one" [I def did not buy that. I do not get involved with false idolatry], "Obama Mama" Triple XL Tees with Obama in glitter and saying the Champ for our gangstas, and then just all the shirts with his face on them, no slogan needed )

These things were sold everyday near metros and downtown. The only thing I could not find were Batteries!! For my camera which eventually started dying!! Anyhow I am sharing some of my pics with Toyetalks viewers. Enjoy!! Despite the cold and crowds, I can tell the little Toye's that I was there!

6am Inauguration Morning. What we found coming out of the Metro....Chaos and minimal police pressence where needed
I need the city to have done better! I was without a ticket but managed to get around the police while all these ticketed people waited to get through the 3rd street tunnel. If found out later many of these people got stuck in the tunnel and never saw the swearing in.
Walking through the 3rd street tunnel for probably almost a mile was crazy seeing as we saw maybe one police officer
Out the tunnel and onto an on ramp. Really........ Only for Obama
At 9am we are finally at th capital. We left my house thats 5 miles away at 5am
